University of West Georgia Centennial Quilt
Announcements for February 2007
University of West Georgia Centennial Quilt, names for sections have been chosen. You can see who chose what section by clicking on the PDF File.
According to the offcial Centennial Website, the quilt presentation is set for August, 2007 with no date specified at this point. The Centennial Year celebrations will end on August 15 when a time capsule is sealed.

Those interested in taking the "Trip Around the World" workshop given by Marilyn Clark, on May 19, will learn the technique of sewing 14 strips of fabric in strips, pressing techniques, sewing them into a tube and then cutting to size. This process is a fast and effective method of constructing a queen size quilt top.
- Items required for class:
- 14 coordinating fabrics - 1/2 yd. cut each (fabrics should have colorway from light to dark, or whatever your feel comfortable with).
- 1 1/2 yd. for inner border
- 2 yd. for outer border & binding
- Sewing machine
- Thread
- Cutting tools
- Pins
- A list of prelimary sewing will be supplied after payment of the class.
